How an Alcohol Breathalyzer Helps You to Know Your Limit

Different countries, and indeed even different states have different laws regarding acceptable and inacceptable levels of blood alcohol when driving. In some locations, such as Brazil, Azerbaijan, Hungary and Russia, you must have a 0.0 blood alcohol level to drive i.e. you must not have consumed any alcohol whatsoever if you wish to drive a vehicle. Across the world, maximum blood alcohol levels for driving vary between 0.1 and 0.85.
How can you tell what your blood alcohol level is?

Quite simply, the only way to know whether or not you are over the legal limit to drive is to do a breathalyser test. Guessing is just not an option. If you get on the road and cause an accident, whether you injure yourself, others or property, and you are found to be over the legal driving limit in terms of blood alcohol levels, you are going to find yourself in big trouble with the law. It is advisable to keep a breathalyzer in your home or car so that you can check your BAC levels as needed. Even the best breathalyzer won’t set you back too much and is a worthwhile investment.
Why should I take a breathalyzer test?

Many people determine their blood alcohol level by the number of alcoholic drinks they have had, the size of their alcoholic drink or the type of alcohol they are drinking. However, this is by no means an accurate method of determining your blood alcohol reading. Different types of drink affect different people in many different ways. A half a can of beer may not force your blood alcohol levels to go over the legal limit, but it could do just that to your friend. Every person’s body absorbs alcohol at different rates. With that said, just because a breathalyzer test showed that you were over the limit last week doesn’t mean that the same amount of alcohol couldn’t drive you over the legal limit this week. Why? Exhaustion, illness, medications and several other factors can cause your blood to absorb alcohol differently.
